Project: Churchill Retirement Living, Landscape Design (offices at Ringwood)
Client
Churchill Retirement Living
Background
Churchill Retirement Living is a very successful and expanding retirement home provider. It needed to double the size of its existing headquarters which occupies a sensitive site on the banks of the Millstream at Ringwood in the New Forest. The Landmark Practice was called in to help after an earlier application had failed at appeal, primarily on a perceived conflict between the proposed development and landscape and visual issues.
Description
Landmark revised the layout to overcome landscape and ecological constraints relating to the very sensitive nature of the site and also prepared illustrative material to demonstrate that the changes overcame the earlier objections. Landmark also undertook further ecological surveys to ensure a robust case.
Client benefits
Planning consent was granted allowing the company to expand. The actual form and design of the building remained unchanged, which saved the client redesign costs.
